Itikaf e Holy month of Ramadan

E Holy month of Ramadan is full of blessings and rewards for all Muslims. But, a special emphasis is placed on the last ten days of this month because of several reasons. The last ten days of the Holy month are prestigious as reflected from the recommendations and actions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) during these days.

During these days, the Prophet (PBUH) and his companions would perform three essential tasks or practices. These are given below.

1. Worshipping during the Last Ten Days

According to a narration regarding the Prophet (PBUH) and his actions during the last ten days,

“He would strive [to do acts of worship] during the last ten days of Ramadan more than he would at any other time.”
Hazrat Aisha also reports that the Prophet (PBUH) would work hard during these days and pray all night and would also wake up his entire family to pray, worship and read the Quran.

2. Performing Itikaf in the Mosque

The act of Itikaf means secluding and isolating yourself in the mosque with pure intentions of increased  and increased worship and praying. Muslims also perform Itikaf to get closer to Allah. This was a known practice of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Abu Hurairah reports,
“Allah’s Messenger, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, used to perform i`tikaf for ten days every Ramadan, then when it was the year in which he was taken (died), he performed I`tikaf for twenty days.” [Bukhari]
Hazrat Ayesha also reports that the Prophet (PBUH) “used to perform itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan until Allah the Mighty and Majestic, took him.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
Itikaf is a mustahabb (recommended) act and has many hidden benefits for all Muslims. Generally, the distractions and preoccupations of this world corrupt the mind. When one isolates, these distractions are reduced and one can easily devote the entire day to the worship of Allah. The benefits of Itikaf are given below.

a)      Itikaf protects the heart from indulgence into physical things.
b)      Itikaf protects from consequences of talking too much.
c)      It also protects from sleeping too much.
d)      It allows an individual to free himself from the worldly desires and turn towards Allah.
During itikaf, individuals are allowed to perform the following actions.

a)     Voluntary praying
b)     Quran recitation
c)      Remembrance of Allah
d)      Combing hair, cutting nails, cleaning the body, wearing nice clothes etc.
e)      Bidding farewell to the wife.

3. The Night of Qadar

The night of Qadar is the greatest nights of Islam. Allah also revealed a complete Surah for this night. Allah says,

“Verily! We have sent it (this Qur’aan) down in the Night of Decree (Lailatul-Qadr). And what will make you know what the Night of Decree is? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. Therein descend the angels and the Rooh (ie. Jibreel [Gabriel]) by Allaah’s Permission with all Decrees, Peace! until the appearance of dawn.” [97:1-5]

Roza Rakhne ka Tarika

You can read in this page Roza Rakhne ka Tarika, Roze ki Fazilat, Rozon mein Khas Ahtiyat ki
Zaroorat , Roza kin Logon Par Farz Hai, Roza ki Qaza, Roza ka Kaffara, Roza ka Tootna and Be Ghair kisi Uzr key Roza Chorna, roza kin se toota hai, in Urdu .

Roza Rakhne ka Tarika

Roze ki Fazilat

Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A) se rawayat hai keh Rasool (S.A) ne isrshad farmaya “insane ka har amal barhaya jata hai, das guana se saat so guana tak balkeh is se aage tk jitna Allah tala chahein. Allah tala farmate hain sawaye roze kay keh vo khas mere liye hai aur mein khood is ka badlah don ga, aadmi apni khawahish aur ghiza mere khatir chorta hai, Roza rakhne wale kay liye do khsuhyan hain, aik khushi aftaar kay waqt aur doosri khushi apne parwar digar se mulaqaat kay waqt aur bila shubah roza dar kay munh ki bu Allah kay han mashk ki bu se ziadah pasandidah hai.

Rozon mein Khas Ahtiyat ki Zaroorat

Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A) se rawayat hai farmate hain keh Rasool (S.A) ne irshad farmaya jo shakhs jhoot bolna aur bura kaam karna nahi chorta , Allah tala ko is ki kuch zaroorat nahi hai keh vo khana aur pina chor de.

Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A) se rawayat hai farmate hain keh “Rasool (S.A) ne irshad farmaya” ketne hi aise roze dar hain in ko rozon se sirf piyas milti hai aur ketne raat ko qeyam karne wale hain keh in ko qeyam se sirf bedari (yani raat ko jagna) milti hai.

Yani roze kay doran khas tor par har chote bare guanah se bachna chahiye aur raat kay qeyam mein fazool laghviyaat se bachna chahiye. Is liye keh in se roze aur qeyaam ka swab zaya hone ka imkan rehta hai.

Roza kin Logon Par Farz Hai?

Roze ki farziyat ki teen shartein hain. Islam, baloogh, hosh o hawas aur aaqil hona. Roze ki farziyat ada ki do shrtein hain. 1) sehat mand aur tn durust hona aur 2) moqeem hona, yani bimaar ko bimari ki halat mein aur musafir ko safar ki halat mein roza na rakhne ki ijazat hai magar in donon ko baad mein in rozon ki qaza rakhni hogi . Roza sahi ada hone kay liye aurat kay liye haz o nafas se paak hona shar hai. Halat e haz aur halat Nifas mein roza nahi rakha jaye ga aur agar roza rakha hua tha keh haiz shuru ho gia ya bache ki waladat ki wajah se Nafas ka aaghaz ho gia to vo roza nahi hoga. Is roze ki qaza rakhni hogi.

Roza ki Qaza

Kin kin suraton mein Rozon ki Qaza lazim aaye gi?

1) Kisi roze dar kay munh mein zabardsti khane ki koi cheez daal di gayi aur vo halaq se utar gayi.
2) Roza yaad tha magar kulli karte wqt bila iradah pani halaq se utar gia.
3) Qai hone ko huyi aur ise qsadan lota dia.
4) Qasadan munh bhar kar qai kar daali.
5) Kunkar, pathar , mitti ya kaghaz qasadan nigal gia.
6) Danton mein atki huyi cheez jo chane kay barabar ho, ise nigal lia jaye.
7) Kaan mein tail dalne ya amal pichkari ya injection kay zariye dawa pait mein puhanch gayi
8) Niswar songh li.
9) Danton se nikle huye khoon ko nigal lia.
10) Bhule se kuch kha pi liya aur phir yeh samajh kar keh Roza toot gia qasdan kuch kha pi lia
11) Yeh samajh kar keh abhi subah sadiq nahi huyi sehri khali. Baad mein maaloom hua keh subah sadiq ho chuki thi.
12) Gard ghubar aur abr ki wajah se yeh samjh kar keh aaftab ghurub ho gia, Roza aftaar kar lia. Baad mein maloom hua keh abhi din baqi tha to in sb surton mein Roza qaza karna pare ga.

Roza ka Kaffara

Roze ka Kaffara kis suraton mein lazim aata hai?

Roze mein jaan boojh kar kuch kha pi lene se kaffara aur qaza donon lazim aate hain. Apni biwi se roze ki halat mein azdawaji talluqaat qaim kar lene se miayan aur biwi donon par kaffara bhi lazim hoga aur qaza bhi lazim hogi . Yani laga tar donon ko 60,60 roze rakhne hon gay.

1) Bhool kar kha pi lena.
2) Khawab mein ahtalam ho jana
3) Tail malna
4) Surmah lagana
5) Apni biwi ka bosah lena basher te keh jama kar batihne aur anzaal ho jane ka andesha na ho.
6) Roza na rakhne ki niyat kar kay phir roza rakh lena.
7) Halq mein dhowan ya ghubar ya ata chale jana.
8) Halaq mein dawa ka asar mehsoos hona .
9) Ghusal farz hote huye subah ho jana kha suraj hi nikal aaye.
10) Makhi ka munh mein chala jana.
11) Nehar ya haoz mein ghota marne kay sabab naak ya kaan mein pani chala jana.
12) Kaan khujane se peep nikal aana.
13) Naak mein batti daal kar cheenk marna.
14) Qai ka ho jana basharte keh vo chane se km ho. in sb baton se roza nahi tootta.

Be Ghair kisi Uzr key Roza Chorna

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (R.A) se rawayat hai farmate hain Rasool (S.A) ne irshad farmaya “jo shakhs beghari kisi rukhsat ya marz key ramzan ka aik roza aftaar kar leta hai (yani beghair kisi uzar key roza nahi rkhta ) is ki qaza ka sabab nahi bn skta agar cheh tamam umer roze rakhe.

Preparation for Ramadan

Everyone is aware that the month of Ramadhan is approaching and it is in this month that we are asked to worship Allah Ta'ala excessively.
Preparation for Ramadan

As a small reminder towards the coming month I will present a few things that each and everyone should keep in mind. Something that may aid a person in the month of Ramadhan and those months that follow thereafter.

The time between now and the month of Ramadhan is ticking away. This time that is passing now is precious as it is the time in which we need to make our preparations for the holy month of Ramadhan.

Following are just few points that should be kept in mind during the month of Ramdhan:

'Ilm (Knowledge)

The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam has said, "The seeking of knowledge is Fardh (obligatory) upon every Believer"

The meaning of this Hadeeth is that we are obliged to seek the knowledge that we need in order to execute the commands of our religion, and therefore it is vital that each and every person, during this period between Ramadhan, that we seek the necessary knowledge regarding the Masaa'ils of Ramadhan, i.e. the Fiqh (rulings) regarding the fast and other matters regarding this month.

Habits

It should be remembered that what we practice is what we will take into the month of Ramdhan. It cannot be denied that the blessed month of Ramadhan will indeed encourage a person to worship Allah Ta'ala in greater amounts than in the other months, but it should be also noted that our habits will continue with us through the month of Ramadhan. Therefore, one should pay extra precaution towards their daily habits and try to minimise the habits of sinning and increase the habit of the Dhikr (remembrance) of Allah and worshipping Him.

It is during this month that we should exercise a greater level of patience and gratitude. We should increase the level of perseverance and determination in gaining His pleasure so that when the month of Ramadhan dawns upon us we are in the habit of devoting ourselves to His service.

Sins

It is during the month of Ramadhan that Allah Ta'ala chains the Shaytaan and aids us in controlling our Nafs (Self Desire). It is therefore during this time that we can concentrate on our desires and try to control them and bring them in accordance to the pleasure of Allah.

Allaamah Busairi Rahimahullah says in his Qasida-e-Burdah (Poem of the Scarf) that "Your self (desires) is like a child..." The meaning of this is that a child will desire to do something but like the self desire it will give up if its desire is procrastinated and prolonged.
Therefore, from now on, we should make an intention that whenever we have a desire to commit a sinful act, we will delay that act until our desire retreats and it is thus that we can bring our self desire under control in time for the auspicious month of Ramadhan.

Direct Worship and In-direct worship

Islam, though classed as a religion, in reality, is a lifestyle for a believer. Keeping this in mind, Allah Ta'ala has made each of our daily activities something from which we can gain reward. Therefore, Allah Ta'ala has instructed us to worship Him throughout the year; eleven months which is dominated by indirect worship and one month which is dominated by direct worship.
Therefore, it is necessary that we pay extra attention towards this month as it is the only month in which we are asked to increase the level of direct worship.

Huqooqul Ibaad

It should be remembered that when we disobey Allah it is at His discretion to forgive us, but if we cause any discomfort or difficulty to one of His servants then Allah has informed us that He shall not forgive us until that person does not forgive us and He has commanded us to seek forgiveness from that person.

The month of Ramadhan is a month in which the direct worship an individual believer does increases significantly. It is therefore a time where each person will be in a greater contact with other Muslim brothers. Hence, we should take extra care in ensuring that this does not result in us being involved in sins whilst not even realising it.

It is seen that in Ramadhan people make a greater effort to go to the Masjid to offer their Salaah. Alhumdulillah, this is a great act of worship and may Allah reward us all for making the extra effort. However, how many of us take other people into consideration? We bring our cars, block other people's vehicles and remain in the Masjid to offer our Nawaafils. Yet, we fail to realise that we have caused another person difficulty and therefore all our prayers are washed away.

Keeping a Log

Although not necessary, it is advised that a person keep a personal log on everything he does from today til until after Ramadhan.

The method that can be used is that a book be kept, on one side all the positive points can be noted and on the other side all the negative points should be noted. If this log is started in Sha'baan and continued even after Ramadhan, then one will be able to see what deeds he has been doing and what sins have also been committed. It will also allow us to see whether during the month of Ramadhan our deeds increased and our sins decreased. Thereafter, Insha Allah, we can concentrate on our actions and achieve the purpose of Ramadhan, to change for the better.

May Allah Ta'ala make out efforts for this month successful and may He grant us the rewards that He has promised His pious servants. Aameen.

The Final Days of Ramadhan

The month of Ramadhan brings with it a spiritual intensity driven by the zeal of a believer. This zeal and spiritual presence is a blessing from Allah تعالى to aid every believer reach the zenith of worship through which one can taste the pleasure of Islam and the worship which one performs for the sake of Allah alone.
Dua
It is through His infinite mercy that He increases our physical strength in two folds; by relieving us from our physical strength, hence reducing our desires, and by also chaining the Shayateen (satans) during this sacred month.

The month of Ramadhan is a well known topic which is discussed by many individuals from many different angles to highlight its many attributes and significances.

At the same time, many people also highlight the importance of refraining from sin and ensuring the fast does not become void of blessings and rewards through the imperfection caused to it through sinning.

The last ten days of Ramadhan are also mentioned specifically as they carry great merit and rewards. It is during these nights that the Sunnah I’tikaah (seclusion) is performed in the Masaajids (Mosques) in order to further dedicate the short period left in the worship of Allah. It is also during this time that the majority of the scholars have stated, through references of the Ahadith, that Laylatul Qadr (Night of Power) is found.

These are great topics to discuss which I would have been honoured to write about had time allowed me to do so. However, the month of Ramadhan is now coming to an end and the weekend brings us closer to the final days of Ramadhan.

In this moment I would like to reiterate the purpose of Ramadhan and the main objective that is to be accomplished during this month:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

O You who believe! Fasting has been obligatory upon you as it was made obligatory for those before you, so that you may become God-fearing

The purpose of this month is to ensure that a person who is fortunate to be present within this month progresses spiritually to a level which is superior to that than which he started. By doing so, he should have created a bond and link with Allah that would sustain until the following Ramadhan and years to come.

A person who neglects the above purpose, despite having fasted and committing to worship, may find that his Ramadhan will not only be deemed purposeless but will also descend upon him as a curse. This is clearly proven from a lengthy Hadeeth of the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم in which it is stated:
اِنَّ جِبْرَئِيْلَ عَرَضَ لِيْ فَقَالَ بَعُدَ مَنْ اَدْرَكَ رَمَضَانَ فَلَمْ يُغْفَرْ لَهُ قُلْتُ آمِيْنَ Jibraeel عليه السلام came to me and said, ‘Curse be upon him who acquired the month of Ramadhan and did not have his sins forgiven.’ To which I said ‘Aameen’

[Mustadrak al-Haakim]

It is clearly evident that a person who fails to acquire the forgiveness of Allah تعالى in this month will be deprived from the proximity of Allah and in turn Allah’s curse will be upon him and he will be distanced from Allah and His mercy.

Therefore, although the fasting has been made an obligation in this month and other prayers have been advised and encouraged; one should never fail to remember that the true purpose of Ramadhan is to better ourselves and gain Allah’s love and affection and through these gain His forgiveness.

It is never too late to acquire this affection of Allah and His forgiveness, even if the majority of this month has been wasted and spent in a manner not suitable for such a sublime month. The blessings of Ramadhan remain till the end of this month, in fact, it’s blessings increase in the last portion of this month within which the Night of Power is most likely to occur.

Therefore, whether we have spent these days of Ramadhan in concrete dedication to Allah or whether we have waivered in this month, it is essential to ensure and check and scrutinise our actions during this month and come to a conclusion as to whether Allah تعالى would be pleased with us and our actions. Whilst doing this we need to continuously seek His forgives and ask Him to pardon our shortcomings for indeed we can never do justice to His majesty.

As a final note, we should increase our recitation of the following Du’a (supplication) as it has been mentioned on the authority of Hadhrat Aisha رضي الله عنها that she asked the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم as to what she should recite if she was to acquire the Night of Power. Our Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم answered with the following Du’a:

اللّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُوْ عَنَّا O Allah! You are forgiving, and you love forgiveness. So forgive me.

May Allah give us all the inclination and understanding to monitor our actions and assess as to whether we have achieved the purpose of Ramadhan. May He give us the strength to make amends to the extent of our ability and thereafter forgive our weaknesses and shortcomings through His blessings.

O Allah, save us from your curse which was conveyed through Jibraeel عليه السلام and sealed with acceptance by our Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم. Give us the courage and strength to turn towards you in a manner which you have described as توبة نصوحا. Aameen.
